The first thing you may ask yourself is “what is Coldblack® technology? It’s common knowledge that dark colored clothing heats up faster when exposed to direct sunlight compared to light colored clothing. With 
Coldblack® this is no longer the case. Coldblack®, a special finishing technology for textiles which reduces heat build-up and provides reliable protection from UV rays, is a material named among the Top Innovations 2008 by Popular Science. The product reflects 80% of the Sun’s UV rays and also provides the user with an SPF of 30. The garment is also made of a 100% moisture-wicking fabric.
Comfort:
Vertx is known for providing their customers with garments that are not only going to be efficient for any mission scenario, but also provide a great amount of comfort. The soft, lightweight feel of the shirt
gives the end user a very comfortable fit. The shirt does not itch or irritate the skin if an undershirt is no used, and is 100% polyester. The collar of the garment has two sewn-in, thick and rigid collar stays, this feature keeps the collar of the shirt in in its intended position. Vertx took into consideration the annoyance of fabric tags, as well. The shirt comes lacking a fabric tag eliminating the possibility of any annoyance. The shirt is seamed together fairly unusually, yet this is not a negative. The way the shirt is sown together gives its operator a very free range of motion. Although it is uncommon for shirts to affect free range of motion, the Vertx Mens Coldblack® Short Sleeve Polo is made to eliminate this slim chance.
Accessories:
Although at a glance the polo seems fairly minimalist, it contains a few inconspicuous accessory features. To start, below the three button melamine placket is a mic tab or sun glass loop. This loop is double stitched and is made from the same durable fabric as the rest of the garment. The left arm of the polo contains two under sewn pockets. The pockets are 3/4″ inch wide each and around five inches long. The pockets are a great feature for holding writing utensils when in the class room or on the range. They work doubly as small accessory compartments.
Final Thoughts:
Although there may be many option when it comes to tactical wear, Vertx is providing end users the ability to stay comfortable and professional. The Vertx Mens Coldblack® Short Sleeve Polo is a great option for any occasion, from a night out to a day on the range. Its blank design offers embroidery options and is advertised to except embroidery very well. The polo is priced very well and has Vertx’s extensive history to back it up. I found no negatives with the Vertx Men’s Coldblack® Short Sleeve Polo, this combined with the innovative design of stitching and accessory options, the garment received a full score!
