Review
Messenger bag, satchel, man-purse (murse). Call it what you will, Maxpedition’s Jumbo Versipack is by far the most versatile pack I have carried.
Overview:
Having carried the Veripack on a daily basis for over 2 months now, I have found little this bag cannot be used to carry. From heading to the range or being used as a go bag, the Versipack has enough compartments to suit your every need. With a total of 9 compartments (including the main) the Versipack is great for storing and transporting small- to medium-sized accessories.
Review:
Whether it be to the range or out to starbucks to grab a coffee, your Versipack will fulfill your carry needs. From your CCW to a water bottle, this pack holds it all and does so inconspicuously. The build of the bag is incredible, as much of Maxpedition’s products are. All hems and seams are double- and triple- stitched some with folded fabric to prevent frayed ends. The pack is made of a durable nylon and consists of 9 compartments, the majority of which are secured with heavy-duty zippers. If you know anything about my previous reviews, you could have guessed I was going to touch on zipper quality. There is nothing I hate more in a product that a faulty or low quality zipper. I have grown familiar with Maxpedition, and their quality in the zippers were no surprise. The pack also consists of two large buckles: one for securing the pack to the users body and one to secure the main compartment. Both buckles are high quality UTX polymer, which is a huge benefit.
Key Compartments:
Front Slim: The front slim compartment can be utilized for small documents, ID cards, and other small accessories. It is very easily accessed, and proves to work well with documentation you may need at the ready.
Top: The top compartment seems to have been made for storing your eye pro or even a small camera (like a Contour, for example).
The CCW: The CCW pocket is located on the back most portion of the bag but can still be accessed from the front. The inside of the compartment is lined with loop velcro and comes with a hook portion which wraps around your CCW pistol which can be placed in the compartment with ease.
Cylinder Pocket: The cylinder pocket is located on the right side of the bag and allows you to have a storage compartment for a water bottle.
Main: The main compartment is surprisingly large and is secured by the top flap and an added draw string flap which protects your accessories from water.
Final Thoughts:
Overall the bag is great. The innovative little bag can be used for just about anything. The back portion of the bag along with the shoulder strap are both padded allowing for a comfortable wear. If you are looking for a non-backpack type go bag, or out of the box range bag, the Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack should be your go-to option. I am thoroughly impressed with the build quality and very pleased with its ability to be used in any scenario. The Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack can be purchased at ReactGear. While you’re there, be sure to take a look around at the other Maxpedition products they carry!
